By using Nocticro, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What Nocticro is
Nocticro identifies animals, plants, and insects from a photo, using computer-vision models and reference data from sources like Wikipedia. It's a guide, not a guarantee. See the safety notice below.
Identifications can be wrong. Confidence scores and safety notes are estimates, not certainty. Never use Nocticro as your sole basis for deciding whether an animal, plant, or fungus is dangerous, venomous, or safe to touch, eat, or approach. When in doubt, treat an unidentified species as potentially hazardous and consult a qualified expert.
Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account.
- You must provide a real, working email address to create an account.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile. This is permanent and can't be undone.
Subscriptions and purchases
- Free usage. Every account gets a daily allowance of free identification scans and chat messages, reset at midnight UTC. Unused allowance does not carry over to the next day.
- Subscriptions renew automatically. If you subscribe to Nocticro Pro (monthly or annual), your payment method is charged automatically at the start of each billing period until you cancel. The price, billing frequency, and renewal terms are shown clearly before you pay.
- Promotional offers are real and time-limited. Any offer we describe as limited-time or first-purchase-only (for example, a discount available only within 48 hours of creating your account) genuinely expires on the stated terms and is enforced on our servers. It will not reappear once it has expired.
- Cancelling. You can cancel your subscription at any time from Profile → Manage Subscription, which opens our payment processor's self-service portal. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep your paid access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for.
- Refunds. Purchases (subscriptions and one-time token packs) are generally final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.
- Tokens are non-transferable. Purchased or free tokens are tied to your individual account and can't be transferred, sold, gifted, or combined with another account. One-time token pack purchases don't expire.
- Payment processing. Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, which manages billing, applicable sales tax/VAT, and payment security. We never see or store your full card details.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload photos you don't have the right to use.
- Use Nocticro to identify people, rather than animals, plants, or insects.
- Attempt to abuse, overload, or circumvent rate limits on our service.
- Use the service for anything illegal.
Your content
You keep ownership of any photo you submit. By submitting one, you give us permission to process it (send it to our identification providers, store it if you save the result) solely to provide the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
No warranty
Nocticro is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any identification will be accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nocticro and its creators aren't liable for any harm arising from your use of the service, including harm resulting from relying on an identification.
Changes
We may update these terms as the app changes. Continuing to use Nocticro after an update means you accept the revised terms.
